Vatavia, Barony of. Badge. Per bend sinister Or and azure, a harp and a dragonfly inverted counterchanged.
Per precedent (q.v. George Anne, 05/2002), a dragonfly inverted is one step from period practice. This badge is for local bards.
The forms also have the note about this being a badge for local bards. Can this note get added to the OandA? entry for this badge?
Got it...
* The following device associated with this name was registered in May of 2007 (via Atlantia): Azure, on a pale argent between two lightning bolts palewise Or a gauntlet clenched sable.
This isn't a pale vert; it needs to be moved to be with the other pales argent. :-)
This one has no features on any of the descriptions. The pale has no tincture specified, so it matches any tincture. There are items with incomplete or inadequate indexing. This one shouldn't have been one.
* The following device associated with this name was registered in September of 1991 (via the West): Per fess Or and vert, on a pale counterchanged, between in chief two martlets, in base a martlet vert.
The marlets are vert; this needs to be moved. :-)
...and they were not marked with any tincture, so they would show up under any tincture, including vert.
...it shoudl go both places, as Hippocampus is ambiguous
* This name was registered in February of 1985 (via An Tir). * The following device associated with this name was registered in July of 1983 (via An Tir): Per bend argent and sable, two falcon's heads erased counterchanged. * This name, registered in July of 1983 (via An Tir), was changed to James the Blackhawk in September of 1983 (via An Tir).
...and it was changed back to James Blackhawk in February of 1985. Yeah, it's weird, but, well, it's weird.
This shows up under TORCH, but there's no torch in it -- a flamberge is a wavy-bladed sword:
* The following device associated with this name was registered in November of 1991 (via the East): Per bend sinister engrailed argent and gules, a flamberge and a lion rampant counterchanged.
Fixed -- Herveus
This shows up under BEND:argent:plain line:charged:1, but as far as I can tell, the bend is Or.
* The following device associated with this name was registered in July of 2006 (via Atlantia): Azure, on a bend Or between two bears rampant argent three sheaves of arrows palewise sable.

Fixed -- Herveus
* An unknown record (type=`W') was found in the database.
Is this my heraldic will?
Yes. W indicates an heraldic will as called out on an LoAR.
This seems to be indexed under CAT:azure:1, not CAT:sable:1
oops. Fixed -- Herveus
is listed under Monster - Dragon - 1. Precedent indicates that a bi- or tri-corporate create is considered to count as two or three, not one:
"Emer ingen Meic Aedain. Name and badge. Argent, three foxes courant in annulo conjoined at the feet gules. This badge is returned for conflict with Richard Blackbury's device, Argent, a tricorporate fox gules, marked proper. [Vulpes vulpes]. A tricorporate fox has three bodies with a single head. We typically do not grant a CD for conjoined versus not conjoined, therefore there is only a single CD for the postures of the foxes (courant versus erect). [LoAR 09/2006]"
So shouldn't Theo's be under Monster - Dragon - 2?
Yep...moved - Herveus

* This name was registered in October of 1987 (via Ansteorra). The following device associated with this name was registered in October of 1987 (via Ansteorra): Purpure, on a pale Or three frets conjoined gules, all within a bordure Or.
These are the same person. The LoAR of October 1987 lists the Raibert spelling, not the Ralbert typo; error in the database, not on the LoAR.

Godfrey of Inwood's device was registered in the April 1991 LoAR as Vert, a bat-winged mantyger sejant guardant within a bordure sable, which is what appears in Oanda. However, there is an errata note in June 1991 which states "The tincture of the mantyger and bordure are argent, not sable as stated in the LoAR." which requires an update in Oanda. The last bullet can go away, it was the March 1999 device that was being reblazoned - this was clearly indicated in the errata letter and there don't appear to be any blazon differences to cause a mismatch. The sole reason for the reblazon was to fix the spelling of trisklion.

Morsulus: errata actions normally get the date of the errata letter. You can go to that month and find the action in either the LoAR or the Errata letter. Backdating the entry in the database makes that impossible.

Sine ni Mhoraig appears in the database as a device with no name registration. The LoAR lists the entry as a device (and there are "name and device" items nearby). The scanned paperwork indicates "name - OK", so I think this was an inadvertent omission from the LoAR.

Eric of Eisental The following device associated with this name was registered in August of 1999 (via the East): Sable, a fir tree within roundels conjoined in annulo argent.
The roundels conjoined in annulo have the appearance of an annulet invected, which is how it is indexed.
I have noticed that the phrase "statant erect affronty" has been catalogued in four different ways. Personally I think some consistency would be a good thing here. There are 26 registered items that used the phrase: 11 are older and thus have no description of the creature and 15 have descriptions that vary from: affronte, passant, rampant & statant. Estrill
Herveus: in the Ordinary, only cats and dogs get grouped by posture at all. Frogs and turtles don't get posture applied at all.
Presently, postures break down into several disjoint sets:
rampant/addorsed/combattant/rampant to dexter/rampant to sinister
passant/statant/passant to dexter/passant to sinister/statant to dexter/statant to sinister
tergiant
affronte
couchant/dormant/couchant to dexter/couchant to sinister/dormant to dexter/dormant to sinister
sejant/sejant to dexter/sejant to sinister
For cats and dogs, using affronte would require adding another division in the ordinary, so I'd be inclined to use rampant, as that would be the most applicable alternative. ...or else I take affronte to be a species of rampant. I'd expect there to be a CD between statant erect affronty and rampant, but given the rarity of affronty, I think we can don't cause search problems by conflating them.
For everything else, affronte should be applied as the posture.
I've fixed what needed fixing.

Herveus: Perhaps the display code should parse it out or drop the quotations, but it's the normal way to keep a list straight in this situation in this database.
Note: chased means voided but with the interior details and lines still showing as well as the outline."
Currently the device is indexed under CAT:couchant:argent:1 ; the description makes me wonder whether it would more appropriately appear under CAT:couchant:sable:1 . It sounds like the cat is sable, fimbriated and detailed argent.
The scan of the file shows a cat clearly labeled as "argent" on a field labeled "sable". I don't know what "chased" is really supposed to mean here.
I've seen "estoille" spelled with one and two <l>'s.
JML: not a typo I'm interested in correcting at this time; it's been registered 13 times - plus once in an order name.
